Abstract

The Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNET; https://www.apbionet.org) has been a cornerstone in the bioinformatics landscape of the Asia-Pacific region since its establishment in 1998. As a pioneering nonprofit entity, APBioNET has dedicated itself to fostering the growth of bioinformatics through a concerted focus on teaching, training, infrastructure enhancement, and research collaboration. This talk will explore the organization’s history, outlining its founding principles and the strategic initiatives that have established its role as a key regional and global player in bioinformatics teaching and training.
