Planning a virtual open data science training event for 2021?

Code for Science & Society is enthusiastic to announce our first request for proposals for virtual events centered on tools, practices, and communities in open data science that drives scholarship. Thanks to an award from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, we are able to provide grants up to $20,000 to support emerging or established virtual events held between January and December 2021. International applicants are welcome! We recommend applicants make use of our resource pages focused on best practices in virtual event planning and code of conduct development and check out our summer blog series featuring interviews with organizers who have recently transitioned their in-person events online. We also encourage applicants to attend upcoming events focused on virtual conference planning hosted by the Center for Scientific Collaboration and Community Engagement and CarpentryCon@Home

Applications are due August 25th by 11:59PM PST and need to be submitted using our OpenReview portal

Have questions? We’re hosting an informational session July 21st. You can also check out our FAQ page or email conference.fund@codeforsociety.org
